  • Donate $35 or more to C3 by midnight on December 31, 2022.

  • You must live in Virginia in order to win.

  • Right now, only home or property owners can take advantage of solar net metering. The winner must own their home or property. If you rent and want to go solar, send this to your landlord!

    There are ways that renters can benefit from solar power other than installing panels. For example, charging devices on a small portable solar system; using a solar generator instead of a gas-powered one when camping or when the power goes out; or installing solar versions of home devices, like security cameras or flood lights.   • Solar panels can be installed on almost any kind of roof material and roof structure, as long as it is not North facing and/or too shaded.

  • Check your solar viability using Google’s Project Sunroof. This handy tool provides a personalized solar analysis of your home and compares potential savings estimates from three different financing options: loan, lease, or purchase.

  • Yay for solar panels! There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent. The prize money can only be utilized for a home solar installation.

  • Yes. Tiger Solar partners with banks and credit unions whose sole purpose is to connect residents with green financing options.

  • Solar power is a clean energy alternative that is renewable, sustainable, and abundant! Switching from dirty fossil fuel to solar-produced electricity is a meaningful way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that are harmful to the environment and contribute to climate change. Solar energy has also been proven to improve air quality and reduce water use from energy production.

    Going solar is one of the best investments you can make for the environment, PLUS it has financial benefits for you. Solar panels on your home or property can save you money on electricity bills and protect against rate hikes.

    Altenergy has been providing clean energy solutions since 2005. The two companies first collaborated in 2018 to install solar panels on two of Tiger’s convenience stores - The Market at Preston and The Market at Ruckersville.
