Harnessing the Power of the Sun and Improving Efficiency

About sigora solar

Andy Bindea founded Sigora Solar in 2011 with a little more than a used Honda civic and a 40’ ladder in Waynesboro, Virginia. Sigora is now the largest residential solar company in Virginia and has expanded to over 11 states across the Mid-Atlantic and Mid-West and West Coast (California), installing both residential and commercial solar projects, energy efficiency and battery storage. By bringing an innovative and all-inclusive package to customers, Sigora has helped thousands of families to save money on their electric bill, increase their home value, and lower their carbon footprint. Sigora’s mission is both local and global, saving our local clients thousands of dollars on electricity through our unique Produce and Reduce package, while fostering positive change across the globe through the Sigora Gives Back program in partnership with our sister company Sigora Haiti.

Our commitment to sustainability

Sigora’s commitment to sustainability within our business practices and operations has earned the company notable accolades such as the #1 Solar Company in Virginia as well as the Most Forward-Thinking Company in the U.S. Additionally, Sigora consistently ranks amongst the top residential solar installers in the nation and among the best places to work in the local Charlottesville community.

Sigora recently launched an Environmental Stewardship Policy focused on energy and water consumption, waste generation, and overall greenhouse gas emissions as part of the company’s efforts to continue to improve its sustainability practices. Sigora also has active sustainability projects focused on improving the efficiency of its fleet and developing a detailed Five-Year Sustainability Plan.

Why the Green Business Alliance?

As an important player in the clean energy industry, we at Sigora are excited to join the Green Business Alliance for many reasons. We are honored to have the opportunity to work with other influential businesses to support the clean energy industry and serve as advocates for the adoption of sustainability initiatives within our local community. Additionally, being a consistent participant in C3’s Better Business Challenge, we are making the commitment to serve as a leader within Charlottesville and beyond.

At Sigora, we are dedicated to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, specifically via our energy-use intensity per employee metric. With the support of C3 and other GBA members, we are excited to find innovative solutions to meet our ambitious goals.
