Climate Partners

We can go further together
Charlottesville is a great place to live, work, learn, and play. We are a community of leaders. We see problems and innovate solutions.
When it comes to climate action, though, we can and should do more. Which is why C3 is collaborating with local government, nonprofits, businesses and household to build a stronger and cleaner Charlottesville.
Home Energy Challenge
C3 is bringing together the following Climate Partners to launch a Home Energy Challenge in 2018:
To reduce climate pollution as a community, we must take action in our homes. The good news is that taking action means saving money. Individual households stand to save thousands of dollars annually by taking climate action.
C3’s Home Energy Challenge is a fun and social approach to cutting energy costs in your home. Hosts invite their friends and neighbors to "Energy House Parties" and our online platform will allow teams to see their potential money savings and positive impact on the community. The "Challenge" will engage, track, and reward teams of neighbors as they commit and follow-through on individual actions. It's our community. Our climate. And every action makes a positive difference!

The Better Business Challenge
C3 is bringing back the Better Business Challenge in 2018, in partnership with the following non-profit, local government, and institutional Climate Partners:
- LEAP - Local Energy Alliance Program
- Better World Betty
- The City of Charlottesville - Office of Sustainability and Office of Economic Development
- Albemarle County - Office of Facilities and Environmental Services and Office of Economic Development
- The Charlottesville Area Chamber of Commerce
- The University of Virginia Darden School of Business
These Challenge partners have provided strategic program guidance, staffing resources, finances, office space, and in some cases all of the above! We look forward to the Challenge to ensure that local businesses, schools, non-profits, and faith organizations in have the resources they need to do things like increase their energy efficiency through LED lighting and produce renewable energy while earning positive recognition in the community for their stewardship efforts.
